Welcome from our Head Master
Kingston Grammar School is one of the most successful co-educational schools in the country. Guided by our motto, Bene Agere Ac Laetari – Work Well and Be Happy, we empower students to excel academically, develop as individuals, and make meaningful contributions to the world around them.
I take great pride in being Head Master of such a happy and thriving school, and look forward to welcoming you here soon so you can see for yourself what makes Kingston Grammar School so special.
Our students’ success starts, but does not end, with their academic achievements. Our A Level and GCSE results consistently place us among the top 40 UK independent schools, opening doors to leading universities across the UK, Europe and North America.
Many students attend Russell Group universities, including Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews and Imperial, pursuing courses such as Medicine, Engineering and PPE. Others embark on exciting journeys such as studying Economics in Stockholm, Fashion in Milan, Art at the Royal Drawing School in London or Technical Theatre at RADA.
Through a rich co-curricular programme, students explore their passions in sport, music, drama and art. We boast a remarkable sporting legacy, with students earning scholarships to institutions such as UCLA, Stanford and Yale, and produce top international athletes and Olympians.
Our strong tradition of theatre, art and music means our alumni make their mark on the stage, in performance and in all aspects of the design world.
What truly sets KGS apart, though, is our emphasis on pastoral care and community spirit. The wellbeing of each student is at the heart of all we do. Our culture of care ensures that students feel supported during challenging moments, from their first days at school to the inevitable pressures of exam season. Equally, our well-established culture of service instils in students a sense of responsibility, with all year groups engaging in meaningful community service and charitable programmes.
I take great pride in being Head Master of such a happy and thriving school, and look forward to welcoming you here soon so you can see for yourself what makes Kingston Grammar School so special.
