Travel
Kingston Grammar School is set in the heart of Kingston upon Thames. The main school site is just a short walk from Kingston railway station (around five minutes) and Cromwell Road bus station (approximately three minutes), making daily journeys straightforward and well supported by local transport networks.
We actively encourage students, parents, visitors and staff to travel by sustainable means wherever possible, including walking, cycling and public transport. Kingston benefits from frequent and reliable train services, with direct routes from London Waterloo operated by South Western Railway. Numerous bus routes also stop close to the School, providing simple connections from surrounding areas such as Richmond, Teddington, Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Roehampton and Surbiton. These well-used routes are part of students’ regular routines and are widely used by local families.
Our sports ground, Ditton Field, is located in Thames Ditton, around a ten-minute drive from the main school site, in a peaceful area close to the River Thames and Hampton Court Palace. It is easily accessible by public transport, with regular bus services to and from Hampton Court and Molesey, as well as nearby South Western Railway services linking Hampton Court railway station with London Waterloo. Travel to and from Ditton Field is carefully managed as part of the school day, ensuring students move between sites safely and confidently.
