An invitation-only choir for experienced singers who want to take their performance to the next level. You’ll explore a wide range of music, with a focus on a cappella singing, and develop your confidence as a performer and musician.

Whether you’re new to chess or an experienced player, this is a chance to develop your strategy and challenge yourself. Take part in matches and represent the school in competitions.

Consisting of an Army and RAF section, participants take part in a wide range of activities including training, camps and adventure experiences. Develop leadership skills, resilience and teamwork while challenging yourself in new situations.

A space for creative thinkers and writers to explore their ideas. Whether you enjoy poetry, short stories or longer pieces, you’ll have the chance to develop your writing and enter competitions.

Get hands-on in the workshop, developing your skills with tools, materials and processes. Design and make your own projects using the laser cutter, belt sander and scroll saw.

Challenge yourself through a range of activities covering four sections: Physical Recreation, Skill, Service to the Community and an Expedition. A rewarding experience that builds independence and confidence.

Share your opinions and learn how to argue your case. Debate a wide range of topics, from current affairs to popular culture, and take part in sessions designed to build your confidence and public speaking skills.

Improve your game with coaching at Sandown Park Golf Centre. Open to all abilities, with opportunities to practise, develop your technique and represent the school in fixtures.

Join one of our guitar groups and develop your skills alongside other musicians. Whether you’re just starting out or already confident, there are ensembles to suit every level, with regular opportunities to perform at school events.

Discuss the big issues in the news and explore different viewpoints. A great way to develop your thinking, confidence and understanding of the world around you.

If you play a wind, brass or percussion instrument and love jazz, this is for you. Rehearse regularly, develop your improvisation skills and perform at events including the annual Jazz Night.

A great way to enjoy singing with others while building your confidence and musical skills. You’ll learn a variety of songs and perform regularly in school concerts.

Explore science in a fun, hands-on way. From making slime to experimenting with mini explosions, you’ll discover how science works in the real world while trying out exciting practical activities each week.

Go behind the scenes and learn how productions come together. Work with lighting, sound and stage management, and play an active role in bringing performances to life.

Develop your confidence by stepping into a teaching role. Plan and deliver engaging activities while mentoring younger students at KGS and in local primary schools through the KGS Outreach Programme, building your communication and leadership skills along the way.
