Sport
From trying a sport for the first time to competing at national level, our sports programme is designed to be inclusive, aspirational and enjoyable. We believe in the physical, social and wellbeing benefits of sport and the positive impact it has inside and outside the classroom.
Sport at KGS extends well beyond the timetable. We have sports fixtures every Saturday, after-school training, House competitions and whole-school events which all form part of a vibrant co-curricular programme.
Whether students are representing the School, training after school or enjoying Games lessons with friends, sport at KGS is about participation, progress and pride.
All students have access to competitive fixtures, national competitions, tours and expert coaching across all major sports. These sit alongside a culture that encourages lifelong enjoyment of physical activity.
For those who aspire to play or compete at elite level we have a dedicated team of coaches with a wealth of international sporting and Olympic experience. Our teams regularly compete at a national level and students go on to compete in professional and international sport.
Most Games and training sessions take place at our outstanding sports ground at Ditton Field, home to hockey astros, football pitches, cricket squares, netball and tennis courts and our rowing boathouse.
