The PSA
The Parents’ and Staff Association (PSA) plays an important role in enhancing school life at KGS. Its aim is to strengthen our community and to raise funds that support enrichment opportunities for our students.
At KGS, we pride ourselves on an open, transparent culture of safeguarding
The PSA is led by an active committee made up of both parent and staff representatives who work together closely to support the School, its staff and the wider KGS community. Through collaboration, enthusiasm and shared purpose, the PSA helps create a welcoming and connected environment for families.
Throughout the year, the PSA organises a varied programme of events, from much-loved annual occasions to smaller social activities. These events not only bring the community together but also raise valuable funds that enhance students’ learning experiences. Past contributions have included specialist IT equipment, high-grade Design & Technology resources, fieldwork tools and books for every incoming First Year student as part of the ‘Big Read’ initiative.
Getting involved
There are many ways for parents to get involved in the PSA, whether by helping at events, donating raffle prizes, becoming a Class Rep, taking part in the Quiz Night or simply buying a ticket to an event. Every contribution is valued, no matter how big or small, and all parents are warmly encouraged to take part.
Become a Class Rep
One of the most rewarding ways to get involved is to volunteer as a Class Rep for your child’s form group. Class Reps play a vital role in the success of the PSA and the wider KGS community.
Being a Class Rep is a fantastic way to meet other parents and feel part of the school community from the outset. The role is not onerous and is well-supported by the PSA Committee and KGS staff.
The main aim is to encourage a strong sense of community within form groups and to keep parents informed about PSA activities and events. Class Reps work alongside those from other year groups, help coordinate volunteers for key events such as the Christmas Market and Quiz Night, and share PSA communications with their classes.
Class Reps also have the opportunity to meet other First Year reps, members of the PSA Committee and KGS staff at the Welcome Drinks, held at school during the first or second week of term.
If you would like to volunteer as a Class Rep or have any questions, please email us at psa@kgs.org.uk.
