Pastoral care

Each student belongs to a small vertical tutor group of around 15, organised according to their House and balanced across the Lower and Upper Sixth. This creates a supportive community where students build relationships across year groups and learn from one another.

Form Tutors meet with their groups daily, offering steady guidance and ensuring that every student feels known, valued and well supported throughout their time in the Sixth Form.

Houses

All KGS students belong to one of six Houses:

  • Lovekyn
  • Queen’s
  • Taverner
  • Walworth
  • Stanley
  • Hosking

Lovekyn, Queen’s, Taverner and Walworth are named after founders and historic benefactors of the School. Stanley and Hosking honour Olympic gold medal-winning KGS alumni.

The House system fosters belonging, leadership and shared identity throughout a student’s time in the Sixth Form.

“Being in a vertical tutor group means you always have someone to turn to. The daily check-ins make a real difference.”
