Senior Rowing Coach - (covering maternity leave for up to 12 months)

A Senior Rowing Coach is required to start September 2019 at Kingston Grammar School, a large co-educational school in SW London with a strong tradition in Rowing. The School has an impressive fleet of boats and a long history of success at both boys’ and girls’ levels as well as producing top internationals.

The successful candidate will lead a Senior squad of both boys and girls under the guidance of the Director of Rowing. They will also work with the J15 lead coach to ensure continuity throughout our squads.

Successful candidates will have plenty of energy and enthusiasm to encourage the senior squads and build good individual relationships. The ideal candidates will also hold the equivalent of a British Rowing level 2 coaching qualification or higher. Ability to drive a minibus would be advantageous.

Hours: 30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year as agreed with the Director of Rowing

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 (dependent on experience) plus a generous benefits package

Visiting Peripatetic Teacher - Violin

September 2019

Kingston Grammar School is seeking to appoint a reliable and enthusiastic Violin Teacher (VMT) to start September 2019. The successful candidate needs to be happy to encourage their students to participate in the co-curricular life of the music department at KGS. VMT’s are responsible for their own timetabling and invoicing and will be required to work 5 to 7 hours per week dependent on the number of new students who join the school next term.

Are you an enthusiastic boatman, looking for a job that can personally challenge you? If so, you could be the person we are looking for.

A unique opportunity has become available for an experienced Boatman to come and work at the Kingston Grammar School Boat Club on the banks of the River Thames at Thames Ditton. As Boatman you will have proven experience of managing and maintaining a boathouse.

Essentially, you must have excellent carpentry and DIY skills for the repairing of boats/hulls. You must be a dedicated enthusiast for the sport of rowing with a very flexible and hands-on approach to assist with the rapidly changing work environment.

This is a physically demanding role and you must be able to cope with heavy lifting, carrying and manual handling. You must hold a full driving licence that qualifies you to tow a boat trailer.

ASSISTANT COACH – Summer Term Only

Saturday Afternoons

An Assistant Coach is required at Kingston Grammar School, a large co-educational school in SW London with a long history of success at both boys’ and girls’ levels as well as producing top internationals.

The School has an impressive new boathouse on the River Thames opposite Hampton Court Palace, with its own fleet of top racing boats.

The successful candidate will be assist the Lead J14 Coach working with both boys and girls. The ideal candidate will be required to work Saturday afternoons from 12pm to 3pm.

Qualifications in coaching are helpful but not required, but experience coaching junior rowing is essential. Plenty of energy and enthusiasm is much more important, as is a sense of humour. Ability to drive a minibus would be advantageous
