The Sherriff Club

What is the Sherriff Club?

The Sherriff Club is the parent supporters-club behind rowing at KGS. We are named after KGS alumnus, author and playwright, RC Sherriff, who is best known for writing Journey's End. A keen rower and cricketer, he donated the land on which the KGS Boat Club is built. Contact us at [email protected].

What do we do?

We support the Boat Club and raise money for additional equipment for the rowers. We coordinate support for the crews at races and hold a series of fund-raising activities throughout the year. Recently we have purchased RP3 rowing machines, StrokeCoach performance monitors and Concept2 Comp racing blades, to help give our athletes an extra edge.

Why row at KGS?

Rowing is a fantastic team sport open to all students from Third Year upwards. KGS has a great coaching team available to help anyone interested in rowing to realise their potential. KGSBC has produced two Olympic gold medal winners and many junior international rowers.
